Samsung Fascinate Android Phone Review
- by admin
Finally has a Samsung S Galaxy Android phone, which are fascinating to Verizon (no price on September 8, 2010 $ 200 with a two-year contract from Verizon) can occur. Like the other phones in the Galaxy-S series (the Epic 4G, Captivate and Vibrant), the fascinating sports a Super AMOLED display, a solid 5-megapixel camera, and the intuitive TouchWiz UI. Although Verizon has already established a strong portfolio of Android, fascinating is a solid addition to the airline package Droids.
Design
I do not normally discuss packaging in my reviews, but Verizon taste of the Galaxy S phone definitely has the best presentation of the siblings. The elegant ships, all in black, textured box reminds me of the packaging of the Samsung Omnia II in. This design definitely has printed more aesthetic than a flimsy cardboard box with logos all over it.
Appearance as much as fascinated by the looks of the T-Mobile Vibrant, but it is a little longer and the chrome detailing is a little less noticeable. The fascinating measures 4.9 In 2.5 by 0.4 inches and weighs a mere 4.1 ounces. The fascinating is the slim and elegant of the Galaxy S-telephones, back cover, with its gentle curves, glossy piano-black face and subtly patterned. In contrast to the lively and Captivate, the fascinating feels solid in your hand, others felt a bit cheap and plasticky.
TouchWiz 3.0 interface
Like the rest of the pack is the fascinating Android Android 2.1 (Eclair) with Samsung’s TouchWiz User Interface 3.0 running on it. These users keen should get on Android 2.2 (Froyo) knowing relieved that the Galaxy S-telephones will get the upgrade later this year be. Overall, this version of TouchWiz is better than the older iteration that we have seen on phones like the Samsung Behold II for T-Mobile (a phone that was slow and difficult to navigate).
Despite the improvements, I met some known problems with TouchWiz 3.0. Even if the phone has a 1GHz processor Hummingbird, the handset was limping slightly when I flipped through the menu and scroll down to contact lists and Web pages. Here’s hoping the Epic will get a speed boost when it replaced the 2.2 upgrade.

Like HTC and offers his scythe, Samsung has its own social media aggregator. Online hub connecting streams from your Facebook, MySpace and Twitter accounts in a single view. It is a useful feature if you need to keep an easy way to keep track of your networks. A chance to feature mini-diary is that you create, blog entries with photos, weather info, SMS and more. When I tried mini diary of the European S Galaxy, I could not figure out how to get my messages from the device. Samsung followed with me to confirm my original post, fortunately, and that in fact post messages (even if only with photos) on various social networks, or send them to friends via text. After you create an entry, press the Menu button in the lower left corner, and it gives you MMS and publishing options. If you want to publish, you can send your article on Facebook or MySpace.
My biggest problem with the TouchWiz interface is that it is exaggerated – so much so that the results do not look or feel like an Android phone. In addition, the skin is sometimes disturbed Fever speed (see the “Performance” below).
Another problem I have with the more fascinating is on Verizon’s shoulders as Samsung. Despite the obvious fact that a Google Android mobile phone that fascinated the search function by default, the Bing-search engine. There is nothing bad about the search engine Google, but if you buy an Android phone, you expect everything Google. And what Google does best? Search. Worse yet, you can not change the default settings. To use Google search, you must click on Google.com in the Web browser, and then search from there.
Camera
Samsung fascinating test photoWe put the Samsung S Galaxy, which has the same 5-megapixel camera as fascinating, a modified version of our PCWorld Labs test for point-and-shoot cameras, along with the iPhone 4, the X and the Droid HTC EVO 4G. Unfortunately, our test group was not very happy with the photo quality of the Galaxy impressed S, as it earned the lowest score of the four and a general word score of Fair. It is done before the EVO 4G in exposure quality, but landed in last place in our color accuracy, sharpness and distortion tests.
Samsung fascinating test photoinduced my own practical experiments in the open, I was pretty impressed with the fascinating image quality. Colors looked bright and natural, and details were sharp. Just a little bit of grain appeared in the shots, I had to look really closely to see on my monitor.

On the other side of the Galaxy S took second place in video quality. Its performance is heavily distorted to perform well in bright light. After our panel, saw his bright light footage a bit underexposed and slightly grainy in a full screen view, but large to smaller sizes. The autofocus did a little sharp on a picture before publication. In low light, the material was a little too dark and indeterminate, to earn a better rating. Fortunately, you can use the flash as a fascinating light during video recording.
have For all the powerful smartphone cameras I tested at the last time the Galaxy S-telephones have the cleanest, most user-friendly interface. Unlike the iPhone 4, here you can choose from a variety of shooting modes (Vintage, smile detection, panorama, continuous, and many more) easily and optimize the camera settings to suit your environment and subject.
The shutter speed is a bit slow, but so if you plan to shoot fast-moving children or pets, you might be disappointed with the fascinating Snapper.
Multimedia
The music player is TouchWiz touch-friendly and easy to navigate. It displays album art nice, even with an iTunes Cover Flow-style interface. Sound was clean about my own earphones and decent about the external speakers.
One of the most fascinating features of the fascinating, the Samsung Media Hub, the Galaxy will come with all S-telephones. Media Hub is Samsung’s answer to iTunes, a store for purchasing music and video. Unfortunately, Media Hub is not available to users now, after my contact at Samsung Media Hub will launch this fall. Customers can use the service on an over-the-Air update download.
Performance
Like the other Galaxy S phones, which fascinate with a 1GHz processor Hummingbird driven. Sometimes bogs down the TouchWiz user interface, such as when scrolling through a lot of pictures in the gallery or scroll through a long list of contacts. When I tested Sprint’s 4G Epic, the phone crashed several times when I tried sending an image through the gallery app. Fortunately did not happen with the same fascinating.
Search-standard frustrations aside, browsing the Web on the fascinating, a pleasure, thanks fast 3G network of Verizon. Media-heavy sites like CNN.com and PCWorld.com loaded in seconds.
Many users have complained that the Captivate and Vibrant are slow to lock the user’s location to Virtual Earth. The fascinating was faster, but it took a lot of time to track down my site completely. Also, my situation was not always correct. For example, was fascinated by the place my position on the Third Street to Second Street.
Call quality was very good. I heard my contacts loud and clear, without static or distortion. My contacts reported similarly good quality, although some said the noise was a bit noisy.

Conclusion
Verizon already has a strong portfolio of Android devices, so does the state find fascinating? If you’re after something a little lighter and sleeker look, fascinating design is more appealing than that of the Droid, Droid Droid 2 and X. Additionally, if this is your first smartphone that’s fascinating TouchWiz user interface to navigate fairly easily. Business users and Android enthusiasts may be more inclined to go with Motorola offers or the HTC Droid Incredible as it provides a more direct Android experience.
Palm Pre Plus Phone (Verizon Wireless) Review
- by admin
The Palm Pre Plus ($ 150 with a two-year contract from Verizon; price as of 1 20 10) is actually more of an update of the original Pre on Sprint as a completely new product. Even so, the subtle tweaks hardware with fast network of Verizon, together it makes an overall improvement over its predecessor. Some features remain, but with the keyboard design and the inertia of the software.
Because there are so few significant differences between the Pre Plus and the original Pre in hardware and software, I have concentrated mainly on the updates and new features in the Plus. For a closer look at their WebOS and most of its hardware specifications can be found on our thorough review of the original Palm Pre – the two models are similar. Refined Hardware

Right off the bat, you’ll notice a small difference between the Pre Plus and the first Palm Pre: The single hardware button that was on the latter was removed. Palm says that this design choice is mostly a question of aesthetics – always on the button eliminates another moving part, creating a sleeker profile. As the Pixi Pixi and Plus, the Pre-Plus has a capacitive touch the area below the screen with a light-up bar. Thus, a smaller apartment on map size, you simply enter this area (on the original Pre, you would press the button).
According to Palm, the Pre-Plus keyboard for a better user-friendliness has been improved. In my side-by-side comparison between Sprint and the Palm Pre Pre Plus, I noticed that the keyboard plus a bit more action was taken. The slider mechanism feels a lot safer as well. The original pre-keyboard felt a bit shaky and uncertain, the Pre-Plus keyboard slides in with a nice breeze.

Even with these improvements, some of the problems I experienced remained with the original on the Pre Plus: I had my nails to type on the small keys, and I made a few mistakes in long messages. I wish Palm had reviewed the slide-out design, as well. The bezel sharp lip on the sides and bottom sometimes bothers typing. In addition, the top line is a few millimeters too close to the edge of the screen slider, so you have to press your fingers on the keyboard angle.
Another small change: the option and number keys are now gray (instead of bright orange on the original pre-keyboard). I am sure to change the color had something to do with Verizon branding of the device, but I prefer the orange color, as they are the key longer makes.

Perhaps the best update for the hardware is the doubling of internal memory: The Pre Plus has 16 GB of internal memory, versus 8GB on the original Pre. With the opening of the Palm WebOS SDK and adding 3D graphics into the mix, we are sure to see an increase in the Apps in the App Catalog WebOS, so more space is required. The music player WebOS is great, but the potential for both a first pre portable media player and a smartphone (like the iPhone) has been undercut by its limited storage.
