Dell Adamo XPS Review
- by admin
For a brand known for the main temperate laptops (and now low-cost netbooks), Dell has put a surprising amount of effort to create high-end products. The Company acquired Games PC leader Alienware, XPS and Studio launched the lines created by Adamo, ultra high-end laptop.
Original Adamo was thin MacBook Air competitor, but an updated version (which has long been discussed, but only sporadically available to the public) is more substantial, with a unique design and 9.99mm body.
Like the HP Envy and Sony Vaio Z116, we call these $ 2000 (or more) of the system’s general director Notebooks “, as they seem likely to be used as a high-quality exhibits those who do not mind paying high prices for essentially the same components, more cheap laptops.
In this paper, technological art, Adamo XPS real conversation-starter. It works great as an everyday laptop, and if you do not need an optical drive or many ports and connections. Our main complaint was a weak battery, something so obviously designed for portability should last longer than the usual rush-hour taxi ride to the airport.
Our first impressions of Adamo-still mostly the same receipt in their hands the final version of the review (we briefly had some practice time at the end of last year). Systems are ridiculously thin, especially for 13-inch laptop, but at the same time feels Adamo a bit heavier than it looks, even with solid-state hard drive.
Although very thin, Adamo XPS has a larger than expected mark. Viewed in the closed position it looks like a 14 – or 15-inch laptop, and when open, its 13-inch display feels a bit dwarfed by the large lid.
Adamo opens in an unusual way, with the lid tightly closed until you swipe your finger on the heat-sensitive strip at the center at the forefront. Then he lifts the lid, tilt the screen back and lift the keyboard to its unusual insertion loops. We are concerned (like many of our colleagues) that the absence of the flat surface of the bottom would make it impossible for this laptop is actually sitting on his lap. It does not feel comfortable or as stable as a traditional notebook, when based on its feet, but it is not inappropriate in this situation, too.

When fully open, the keyboard is about 20-degree angle. This is an unusual setup, but one that provides the best typing experience lifted, than the average flat keyboard laptop (although some readers told us that they love the angular keyboards). We also liked the solid feel of metal keys and a sufficiently large touchpad. Right Shift key is smaller than the left, but not terribly so, but some function keys are small and set flush with the surface of the keyboard tray, which makes them difficult to reach. Nevertheless, the overall experience typing well, and we quickly adapted to the layout and its flat, widely spaced keys.
13.4-inch widescreen LED display provides a 1,366 x768 pixel native resolution, which is the standard for upscale 13-inch system. Display images bay and clear, although too glossy screen coating took a lot of light. Stereo speakers mounted on the lower surface (which will be raised in the air when the laptop lid is open) are tinny and not enough, we offer headphones for almost all audio use.
